Why Foresight matters

Most safety, risk and assurance work is retrospective.

It tells leaders what happened and why, after the cost has been incurred. In high-consequence environments, that is no longer enough. Boards, regulators and accountable authorities are being asked to form a forward view and to act on it.

Foresight is the discipline of building that forward view. It draws on the patterns visible in human performance evidence, on the early signals available in operational data, and on the structural conditions that shape decisions under pressure. Done well, it lets leaders act sooner, allocate resources more accurately, and cut down avoidable surprise.

What we do

Capabilities under Foresight.

Predictive performance analytics

Working with your operational data, we identify the leading indicators that predict where performance will hold or break. The work is built and validated by senior data science practice and translated into measures operators can use, not only analysts.

Human performance horizon scanning

We assess emerging human performance, regulatory and technology pressures relevant to your sector and your operating model. The output is short, executive, and built for board and accountable authority use.

Decision-quality reviews

We test the conditions under which your most consequential operational decisions are made: information available, time available, fatigue, supervision and escalation pathways. The work improves decisions before, not after, their consequences arrive.

Foresight for regulators and accountable authorities

We support regulators, oversight bodies and accountable authorities to develop the predictive and human performance reasoning required by contemporary safety legislation. This includes senior briefings, structured assessments, and tailored advisory work.

Flagship workshop

Human Factors and AI for Regulators

A senior workshop developed for regulators, accountable authorities and oversight functions. It builds shared fluency in how human factors evidence and predictive analytics can be combined to inform regulatory judgement, oversight design and forward-looking assurance. Delivered in-house. Numbers limited by design.
